With a career spanning multiple facets of the healthcare industry, I am a seasoned professional committed to making a lasting impact. My journey has taken me through Nephrology & Hypertension, Gastroenterology, Geriatrics, and Hospice, each chapter contributing to my comprehensive understanding of healthcare.
During the challenging times of the COVID-19 pandemic, I stepped up as a NYS Contact Tracer, contributing to the collective effort to manage the crisis. Currently, my passion for patient care finds expression in home care, where I find fulfillment in making a difference in the lives of those I serve.
In 2015, I attained licensure from the New York State Education Department's Bureau of Proprietary School Supervision (BPSS) to teach phlebotomy, EKG, and the Medical Assistant program. Eight years into teaching, I have shared my knowledge at institutions such as Branford Hall Career Institute and Schenectady Community College. Taking a bold step, I founded my own business independently in February 2020 amidst the pandemic, emerging as the first black woman in the Capital Region to achieve this feat.
My teaching philosophy centers around perseverance and the belief that giving up is never an option. I guide and inspire my students, instilling in them the hunger for knowledge and the dedication required for success in their careers. Having graduated over five hundred students, I am proud to witness their achievements and assist them in securing employment.
In recognition of my contributions, 2023 brought accolades such as the Shining Star award from the CNYS Bluebird Organization Inc., the Empire Whole Health Heroes award from Empire BlueCross, and certificates from the Phi Theta Kappa Beta Rho Kappa Chapter honor society and the National Leadership and Success Organization.
Beyond my professional endeavors, I proudly serve on the Capital Region Workforce Development Board Coalition, contributing to the growth and development of the healthcare workforce.
My journey is a testament to my dedication to healthcare education, and I look forward to continuing to inspire and shape the next generation of healthcare professionals.
I am partnered up with WIOA (Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act) “WIOA is designed to help job seekers access employment, education, training, and support services to succeed in the labor market and to match employers with the skilled workers they need to compete in the global economy.”
